This application cannot be licensed.

I have just installed Palladium Individual 2012 from the Downloads page (http://www.palladiumweb.co.za/downloads/Palladium2011RST_11_4_10.msi) and installed it. When launching, I receive a General Error with the message 'This application cannot be licensed'. I understand from the (outdated) Installation Guide found on the helpdesk page that a registration or activation screen should be shown, but it's not.

I am running the following:
Windows 7 Professional (64-bit)
Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 (64-bit)

I have also downloaded the pre-requisites package and installed it, but I already have all of those components.

Please help.

SQL Server Express SP3 Causes Windows XP to Blue Screen

This problem is a known fault of Microsoft's SQL Server Express SP3 installer. It does not effect all computers. To ensure this does not happen to you, please make sure your Windows XP computer has service pack 3 (for windows) installed before installing SQL Express with SP3 in it.

Installing from demo CD

When I put the disc in I can see all the files BUT the only option is to copy to CD. I dont see any option to download to hard drive or file or whatever???

ANSWER:

Basically you need to install the Crystal Reports Installation patch first. You do this by double clicking on it. You don’t need to copy the files, you can run them directly from the CD.

The next step is to go into the folder of the application you would like to install (premium or basic) and then run setup by double clicking on setup. Just say next , next, leaving all the options as default.

Once the software is installed you can follow the instructions in the quick start guide to help you get going:

Palladium keeps asking for activation even though already activated

This problem usually results from a non-english language setting in Windows itself. This is a known issue for the 2008 version. To resolve this issue, please go into your Windows control panel and then regional options. Make sure both the main tab and unicode tab are set to English (any country but must be English).

If you still continue to have problems and are running Windows Vista, try turning off UAC (user account control). Go into control panel and then users. Click on turn user account conrol on or off, and clear the checkbox to use UAC. Restart your computer and try to go into Palladium again.

Do I need to install Palladium Server?

Palladium Server installs MS SQL Server Express and also our automated backup server. You do NOT need to install Palladium Server if you don't want to use the backup server component or are installing from our Single installer.

If you already have SQL Server installed, you can install Pallaidum Server from the MSI file to just install the automated backup software. Please contact us for instructions on this configuration.
